Welcome to Literacy for Life Reading Clinic, Inc. Established in 2020 by Shauna Ewen, Professional Educational Therapist and Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner with over two decades of experience, Literacy for Life Reading Clinic, Inc. emerged in response to an unmistakable need for dyslexia intervention among students facing challenges in school. Recognizing the critical demand for specialized support, Shauna envisioned and founded the clinic with a passion for addressing the unique needs of individuals grappling with dyslexia. Since its inception, the clinic has been dedicated to providing tailored interventions, diagnostic assessments, and evidence-based reading programs to empower students and foster academic success.

 

Our clinic is dedicated to helping individuals who struggle with dyslexia by providing them with educational therapy that works.  Our mission is to help students reach their full potential. At Literacy for Life Reading Clinic, Inc., we understand how overwhelming it can be for families when their child struggles with reading and writing. That's why we offer diagnostic assessments and evidence-based reading intervention to help students flourish and succeed. Our team is committed to providing each student with the necessary tools, support, and individualized attention they need to build strong, foundational reading skills and to help them gain independence.  We take pride in our ability to empower students to become confident, successful readers and writers. 

 

Our commitment extends to supporting individuals with diverse learning profiles, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and ADHD, while advocating for inclusive and enriching learning environments in families, schools, and the community.

Meet The Team

Sandy

Sandy has spent over twenty years, as an educator and tutor, helping students gain the skills and confidence they need to be successful in reading and writing. She is a certified teacher in English/Language Arts, Special Education, and a Reading and Writing Specialist. Her passion is getting students from “I can’t” to “I can do this”. After receiving her Master of Science for Teachers in English Education through the University of New Hampshire, Sandy continued to pursue her education including a Master of Education in Special Education through Plymouth State University. She is also a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner. In her free time, you can find Sandy spending time outdoors with her family - hiking or camping. Or you may find her curled up someplace, lost in a good book!

Michelle

Michelle is a lifelong teacher who has a B.S. in Elementary Education with an added certification in gifted education. She taught 2nd grade for 10 years and 6th grade for 2 years before attaining her

Wilson Level 1 Certification. She has been delivering dyslexia therapy for over ten years and has been delivering online dyslexia therapy for 5 years now with students from around the globe. Michelle lives on the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, travelling, playing pickleball, and running.

Belinda

Belinda is certified in Elementary Education and as a Reading Specialist in the state of Massachusetts. She has been teaching for 20 years and is a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner. Since childhood, Belinda wanted to be a teacher. She decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in reading from the American International College due to watching her brother’s struggles with Dyslexia.

Belinda has worked as a reading interventionist with students in grades K-9 and has extensive experience tutoring students from grades 1-12 in phonemic awareness,  comprehension,   phonics,  and writing skills. Belinda loves teaching and is passionate about helping students succeed in their learning.
